About the role

We are seeking an experienced EPLAN Design Engineer to join an established engineering team in Basildon, Essex, working on electrical design projects within the FMCG industry.

This is an excellent opportunity for an Electrical Design Engineer with strong EPLAN experience, looking to take ownership of electrical design work for automated machinery and industrial control systems.

You will be responsible for producing high-quality electrical schematics, control panel designs and technical documentation, supporting the delivery of automation projects within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

What you will do

Produce detailed electrical schematics and control system designs using EPLAN.
Design electrical systems for automated machinery, production lines and industrial control applications.
Create electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, panel layouts and associated technical documentation.
Develop and maintain accurate electrical design packages in line with relevant industry standards.
Work on automation projects within the FMCG industry, supporting manufacturing and production operations.
Collaborate with Controls Engineers, Mechanical Design Engineers and Project Engineers to deliver integrated automation solutions.
Select and specify electrical components, control equipment and associated hardware.
Review existing electrical designs and implement modifications and improvements where required.
Ensure designs meet relevant electrical safety standards and project specifications.
Support the wider engineering team throughout the design, build and installation stages of projects.

What you will bring

Proven experience in an Electrical Design Engineer, EPLAN Design Engineer or similar role.
Strong working knowledge of EPLAN Electric P8.
Experience producing electrical schematics, wiring diagrams and control panel layouts.
Background in industrial automation, machinery or manufacturing environments.
Experience designing electrical systems for automated equipment or production lines.
Knowledge of electrical components, control panels and industrial control systems.
Ability to interpret technical specifications and deliver accurate engineering documentation.
Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to electrical design.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary engineering team.
